Hey neighbors!
As we navigate the dry season here in North Fort Myers, it’s a great time for a quick refresher on our community’s current water restrictions. Even though Spring Woods is on city water, our location in unincorporated Lee County means we need to follow the county’s seasonal conservation ordinance, as well as the ongoing Water Shortage Warning from the water management district.
Through the end of May, we are currently on a mandatory one-day-a-week watering schedule.
If you haven’t already, please take a moment to double-check your automatic sprinklers and make sure they match up with the county rules:
-
Odd-Numbered Addresses: Watering is allowed on Saturdays only.
-
Even-Numbered Addresses: Watering is allowed on Sundays only.
-
Time of Day: No watering is permitted between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on your designated day (your sprinklers must run either before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m.).
(Note: You might notice the Spring Woods common areas being watered on Sundays, which aligns with the county schedule for common spaces!)
Why the strict rules right now? Historically, April and May put the most stress on our local aquifers before the summer rainy season fully kicks in. By sticking to these schedules, we are doing our part to conserve our municipal water supply—and avoiding any pesky fines from the county!
Thanks for your help in keeping Spring Woods beautiful and compliant. If you have any questions, feel free to drop a comment below or reach out to management.
